Thank you for all who were able to attend the 10:30am news briefing today. Ty Young, President of the Balloon Fiesta Board of Directors; Paul Smith, Executive Director; and Sam Parks, Director of Operations were all in attendance addressing a variety of topics including:
The process for inviting pilots to fly in the event Parking at Balloon Fiesta (there are about 10,000 parking spaces) Landing spaces in and around Albuquerque (hot air balloons typically need an acre to land their aircraft on a typical day) The 30th anniversary of Special Shapes at Balloon Fiesta (Chic-I-Boom and Uncle Sam shapes have been at every Balloon Fiesta for the past 30 years)
The first of nearly 4,200 recreational vehicles will start checking-in today at Balloon Fiesta. There are a variety of spaces/camps that provide full support to dry camping options. The RV’s are traveling to Albuquerque from throughout the country!
